Batman: Arkham Origins’ multiplayer component will not be included in the Wii U version of the game, it’s been revealed.
Instead, Origins’ multiplayer – which was revealed earlier this afternoon – will only be available in the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game.
Warner Bros. refused to explain why it had chosen to drop the multiplayer mode from the Wii U version when contacted by Eurogamer this afternoon.
The news will come as a disappointment to fans hoping to pick up the game on Nintendo’s console, and follows confirmation earlier today that only 160,000 units were shifted within the last quarter – of which less than 10,000 were sold in the UK.
It’s also a worrying sign of another third-party publisher failing to offer the same level of support for Nintendo’s hardware. Warner Bros. is one of the few major third-party publishers still backing Nintendo’s console – but what does this mean for the future?
