Batman: Arkham Knight has become the fastest-selling game of 2015, “comfortably” breaking the record set by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

It’s also the fastest-selling game in the franchise, with week one sales outpacing those of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins. However, it’s also the first Arkham game to release in the UK on a Tuesday, lending it a greater amount of time to achieve higher week one sales.

Unsurprisingly, Arkham Knight debuted at the top of this week’s chart, joining Dying Light, Mortal Kombat X and LEGO Jurassic World as Warner Bros’ fourth No.1 this year.

PS4 also secured two-thirds of the game’s sales, with 67 per cent of copies sold on Sony’s console and 33 per cent on Xbox One.

Sales figures for the game have yet to be announced.
