There’ve been quite a few rumours swirling around that Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom would be making its way to the Xbox One, as a digital release. Bandai Namco has decided to confront the rumours head on, and it’s not good news for Xbox One owners. The publisher has said that the game’s only in development for PS4 and PC.

Bandai Namco confirmed to Gematsu that Ni No Kuni II is not being planned for release on the Xbox One. This isn’t too much of a surprise considering that the first game didn’t come to the Xbox 360 either, and following Bandai Namco’s response it’s unlikely the sequel will be coming to the Xbox One.

Ni No Kuni II is currently being developed by Level-5, whose only game in development for Xbox was cancelled in the mid-2000s. True Fantasy Live Online was an MMORPG that was being developed for the original Xbox, and despite being ‘fully playable’ it was canned by Microsoft in 2004. It’s been rumoured that Level-5 and Microsoft didn’t part on good terms, and since then Level-5 hasn’t released a game on a Microsoft platform, instead focusing on PlayStation, PC and Nintendo platforms.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is due for release on January 19, 2018 on PS4 and PC.
