Microsoft is making major moves to secure TV content for its Xbox One platform, allegedly sending CEO Steve Ballmer to meet with Hollywood TV execs alongside entertainment studios president Nancy Tellem.
Deadline.com reports that the pair met recently with CBS chief Les Moonves, Sony TV boss Steve Mosko, and WME co-CEOs Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell to “reiterate Microsoft’s commitment to transitioning its business to devices and services and to explaining that Hollywood entertainment is a big part of that. Microsoft in the past has just dipped a toe but now has a real commitment.”
Ballmer is said to have been heavily selling what “we could do” with the Xbox One in relation to sports, music, reality and scripted programming.
Gamers were left disappointed by the Xbox One reveal last month, but Microsoft has promised to focus on the games at E3 next week.
