With the launch of Baldur’s Gate 3 fast approaching, fans are now itching to get their hands on Larian Studios’ upcoming RPG installment following the exciting yet short snippet that was provided through the early access period. But alas, with the game’s console release still a handful of weeks away, it appears PlayStation and Xbox users will have to remain patient – that is, unless you’re willing to shell out thousands of dollars for a gaming PC.

Based on a Reddit post created by thicc-as-thieves, it seems this is exactly what they did after they recently “spent $1000 on a PC” because they couldn’t “wait the extra 4 weeks” for the Baldur’s Gate Xbox and PS5 release. Although this decision may be looked at by some as impulsive and highly impractical, most of the comments below the thread are praising the post creator for their decision as hvanderw simply noted that “a decent PC is a great investment.”

KaiG1987 then further commended thicc-as-thieves by saying: “I mean, that’s not spending $1000 on BG3, that’s spending $1000 on a sound investment, of which being able to play BG3 earlier is only one of many benefits.” “Now you have access to all PC games that currently exist, and you’ll be able to enjoy other future games that are better on PC too,” they continued.

Of course, not everyone was impressed with this decision since danhoc said this was an “8 intelligence, 16 wisdom moment,” to which CruelMetatron replied: “I’d swap these. He solved a problem, thus high int, but didn’t recognize that in general it was a wasteful move due to a lack of patience, thus low wis.” Of course, with the game reportedly set to bring players more than 200+ hours of content, this may just end up being a wise decision in the long run since you’ll be able able to experience all that it has to offer, such as the Baldur’s Gate 3 bear scene.
