Larian Studios’ handsome vampire Astarion has become one of the most beloved video game characters of all time. The internet has become so smitten with the character that he’s even popped up in official D&D merchandise. While players can romance the vampire for some kissing and heavy petting, Baldur’s Gate 3 players are creating kissing overhauls to get more smooching action in Larian’s RPG.
Created by modder HyperspaceTowel, the Astarion Kisses Revamped mod aims to be a major overhaul of the whole kissing Astarion feature. And it is a feature. After becoming tired of camera angles blocking all the smooching action and a severe lack of variety of kisses, the modder has released a mod that everyone can love.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Astarion Kisses Revamped
Available to download right here, the overhaul includes “including better camera angles, more variety, and new kisses for Spawn Astarion”. With the mod installed, there are “1-2 new kisses” unlocked for Spawn Astarion depending on your character’s body type.
The mod also takes “Wyll’s neck kiss” and gives it to the suave vampire. “I borrowed Wyll’s neck kiss and edited it slightly for Astarion (because why in the sweet hells does the vampire companion not have a neck kiss?? Larian, pls),” the modder wrote. “This one is available for all races and body types.”
The modder has also added more dialogue options to the vampire when the player asks if they can kiss them. These options include: “Oh, my love”; “There is nothing I’d like more”; Bad girl / Bad boy / Tut tut, very bad; and more.
Most importantly, the modder changed the camera angles of all kiss animations designated for Astarion. In the release version of Baldur’s Gate 3, most kisses and romance scenes use sneaky camera angles to hide the majority of the action, but HyperspaceTowel is pushing back.
“I’ve tweaked the camera angles to improve some shots and add a bit more variety after partnering with him but before defeating Cazador,” the modder explained.
HyperspaceTowel’s Astarion revamp is far from their only mod. In fact, the romance-hungry modder has crafted the “Kiss Me Again” mod that gives players Unlimited Last Kisses in the final battle for Astarion, Minthara and Halsin, edits for Astarion’s confession, better romance with Karlach and a second chance at romancing Shadowheart in Act 3.
However, the modder isn’t only focused on adding romance to games. In fact, the very same modder also created the extremely useful “stop accidentally dating Gale” mod to stop the character from quickly becoming obsessed with players.
