Baldur’s Gate 3 first-person gameplay mod looks so good even Larian’s CEO wants to play it

A full first-person transformation of Baldur’s Gate 3 can be played right now using a concoction of powerful mods on PC. The slew of mods shift’s Larian’s brilliant isometric RPG down in perspective, allowing you to see through the eyes of your Tav and get scarily close to the action.

Baldur’s Gate 3 in first-person is a game changer

Explored by YouTuber Proxy Gate Tactician, a suite of mods can be installed to lock Baldur’s Gate 3 into a first-person perspective. By using multiple camera mods as well as size-changing mods, the game becomes a brilliant first-person game that shows off the incredible details Larian Studios put into the game.

“First Person Baldur’s Gate 3 is the best gaming experience I’ve had since its release,” the YouTuber told fans. “Every fan of Baldur’s Gate 3 should see how amazing the world looks in this PoV. Despite being an isometric game, the developers have put insane detail into every inch of the world. So much so, that you just can’t really see it with the game’s default camera.”

Instead of feeling more like a proper follow-up to its predecessors, the game turns into more of a first-person dungeon crawler. Larian’s spectacular art work on enemies, party members and the environment really shine through, although some muddy texture quality does show its face. (There’s another mod that fixes that, though.”

From the glistening surfaces of The Nautiloid to the devastated crash site near the Chiontar River to the bustling, titular city of Baldur’s Gate, seeing the game in first-person is a completely different experience. It looks fantastic; now if only we could get a VR mod.

Larian CEO wants to play

Fans aren’t the only ones in love with Baldur’s Gate 3 in first-person. In fact, Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke took to Twitter to show the mod off to thousands of fans. “Now I want to play this,” the CEO said. “Just look at it.”
