Baldur’s Gate 3 ‘Extra Encounters’ mod feels like an awesome official update with “more to come”

Larian Studios is getting ready to bid Faerun adieu after the official release of Patch 8, but modders are continuing to create huge new experiences for the amazing RPG. One mod, dubbed “Extra Encounters” adds a host of new battles to Larian’s adventure, and it feels almost official.

As players continue to create massive custom campaigns for PC with cracked mod tools, this brilliant fanmade add-on can be used on any platform.

Baldur’s Gate 3 gets Extra Encounters

Created by modder Rella_mod and available right here, the Extra Encounters and Minibosses mod does exactly what it says on the tin. Once the mod is installed, on PC or console, you’ll be able to battle in 29 additional world encounters and take on 12 new mini bosses.

Available in English, Japanese, Russian, French, Italian, Korean and Chinese, the mod aims to add more variety to the battles of Baldur’s Gate 3.

While not every fight feels like an official addition to the game, every battle is fantastic with some minibosses being genuine challenges. You’ll scrap against the huge Level 5 Elemental “Little John” or even the terrifying Level 17 Avatar of Vlaakith in some truly brilliant fights.

Even better is the fact that the Baldur’s Gate 3 mod isn’t even done yet. Currently on Version 1.1.1.53, Rella_mod explains that there’s “more to come” for the already expansive mod pack.

At the time of writing, the last update came just 43 days ago, adding a new encounter at the Bhaal Temple in Act 3 and fixing issues with prior skirmishes. With so many fights already in the mod, it’s already expansive enough, but with a future planned it’s only going to get better.
