The Dark Urge (or Durge) origin for Baldur’s Gate 3 is an incredibly fun, albeit dark, way to play through Larian’s RPG. However, many fans playing through the game as the bloodthirsty Bhaalspawn have noticed the origin character’s lack of humour, but one fan has set out to change that.

With the release of a new mod, Dark Urge characters can now play with far more dialogue options in response to in-game banter. This means that players trundling through the horrors of bloodshed will also be able to interact with their party almost as normal.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Dark Urge banter mod

Released on Nexus Mods, the new Dark Urge Banter Dialogue Fixes mod, what a mouthful, aims to make sure Durge players have as many reactions to world events and in-game banters as Tav players.

Mostly in Act 1, Baldur’s Gate 3 playthroughs don’t account for Durge players when some events happen. While Tav players and party members will respond to these events, the psychotic Bhaalspawn will simply stand in silence instead.

The mod fixes 55 instances of banter avoidance for Dark Urge players, but modder Dajoile intentionally left out one fix. Despite aiming to add more interaction for the origin, Dark Urge players will never complain about needing rest.

“True psychotic heroes and dark saviors need no rest from grinding enemies into dust, duh,” the modder explained.

More BG3 mods

As one of the most successful ARPGs of all time, Baldur’s Gate 3 modding is exploding with the arrival of cracked mod tools. While fans have already been able to create hilarious mods such as the functioning Pokeballs tool without these tools, fans can finally make entire maps to reintroduce cut content to the game.

Fans are even modding the characters from BG3 into other games. One hilarious mod for Tekken 8 brought every one of the game’s origin characters into the fighting game for a bout of fisticuffs. Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are another breed.
