Developer Turtle Rock has detailed what fans can expect in a new patch for co-op zombie shooter Back 4 Blood dropping later today.

Headline features include a promised offline campaign mode, finally allowing solo players the opportunity to make progress when playing solo. There’s also a new time-limited Roving Merchants Supply Line tracks with new unlocks.

Speaking of unlocks, there’s a new card type for players to collect in this update. Burn cards can be used at the start of a round to offer a temporary boost to Cleaners. There’s also now three new non-Burn cards for Cleaners to collect, each expanding your Quickslot inventory in some way.

As this update is dropping in December, Fort Hope and the Firing Range have also had some holiday decorations added. Speaking of Fort Hope, this update also adds a new practice area to let you get to grips with the Ridden.

There’s also a bunch of fixes and tweaks to the campaign and cards too. You can check out the full patch notes over on the Back 4 Blood website. Turtle Rock has previously promised more updates including three expansions in 2022 with the first named Tunnels of Terror.

The Back 4 Blood December update will be live from around 6pm UK time this evening. The game is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC and you can read our verdict here.
