Developer Breaking Walls has announced that nature documentary inspired adventure AWAY: The Survival Series will launch on September 28 on PS4, PS5 and PC.

In this survival adventure set distant future where nature has taken back the Earth from humans, you’re playing the role of a sugar glider. You’ll embark on a quest to get you and your family across the world to safety. Forests, chasms and other creatures will stand in your way, all across a living, breathing world.

There’s nature documentary style narration, and music by the BBC’s Life and Planet Earth II composer Mike Raznick to add to the feel. You’ll also get to play as several other creatures on your journey, including beetles, lizards, crabs and more.

The game was also announced to be coming to the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One back in March, but there’s been no update on that front just yet. Hopefully, it won’t be too far behind, but we’ll update should we hear more.

Until then, AWAY: The Survival Series will land on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on September 28. A physical launch is also set for October 1, and you can check out the game’s latest trailer below.
