Christofer Sundberg, the co-founder of Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios, has announced he is leaving the company after 16 years.

He'll be stepping down at the end of April from the studio he co-founded back in 2003 with Linus Blomberg. Prior to that, the duo had worked together at Paradox Interactive. Sundberg worked on a number of major titles while at Avalanche – where he also served as chief creative officer –including the massively popular Just Cause franchise.

Sundberg hasn't yet revealed what he'll be doing next in his career.

'I just announced to the team here at Avalanche Studios that I will be leaving the company at the end of April,' commented Sundberg. 'The studio I founded in my kitchen, built, ran and loved for 16 years, working together with fantastic individuals and teams.'

Avalanche Studios' next big game is Rage 2, which arrives on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in May.
