Koei Tecmo has unleashed a fresh batch of details on the multiplayer mode for Attack on Titan 2. The game offers a bunch of new distractions for those looking to team up with a mate for the titan-slaying sequel, including online co-op for the main story and scout missions.

If on the other hand you feel like knocking seven bells out of your buddies, then Attack on Titan 2’s competitive multiplayer shenanigans should have you covered. Annihilation Mode is the order of the day here, where two teams battle against titans in an effort to bag the most points.

You’ll do this rather obviously by duffing up titans and cobbling together defences, but you can also stick it to your opponents directly by using a variety of special bullets. For example, some ammo will paralyse enemies while others will clutter your opponent’s vision and mini-map with a dollop of paint.

Meanwhile, things get even more heated towards the end of the battle, with the last minute of every round offering double the amount of points you can earn.

Attack on Titan 2 launches for PS4, PC, Switch, and Xbox One on March 20. The sequel takes place during the anime’s second season, and has complemented the action with various RPG-style elements this time around, allowing you to build relationships with other characters.
