Atomic Heart, the BioShock-like open world title from developer Mundfish, has released a snippet of its upcoming DLC that’s set for release this summer. Based on what’s been revealed so far, the expansion’s story line will seemingly take place in a location called Facility 3826, which contains all of the defining environmental qualities that could be found within the base game.

The clip starts off with an overview of several suspended structures within a dome-like building, all of which are interconnected by a winding pathway that reaches all the way to its ceiling. Although it’s currently unclear what the purpose of these structures are, this seems to be where the protagonist will be spending most of their time.

Unfortunately, the preview doesn’t show what the plot of the expansion is going to be so fans of the dystopian FPS entry will simply have to wait for more details from the developers. Mundfish also hasn’t disclosed who the characters are going to be since the base game’s ending left a lot of questions unanswered for P-3 and the rest of the cast.

With that said, the expansion’s announcement should still come as good news to Atomic Heart fans as many had initially complained about its lack of content that didn’t give players a chance to fully explore its sprawling open world. Now that the DLC is set for release, however, this should provide you more opportunities to venture through many of the other areas located throughout its world.

A specific date for the expansion’s release also hasn’t been given out yet, but more information will surely surface soon as summer is just around the corner. If you haven’t played the game yet, though, then we suggest reading about the best GPU for Atomic Heart and the Atomic Heart system requirements so you can understand its futuristic Soviet robot plot ahead of its launch.
