The familiar, BioShock-like aesthetic of Atomic Heart has continually intrigued the gaming community since it was initially released.

However, its brilliant blend of visuals, unique enemies, and a relatively linear plot has seemingly made players wonder whether or not it has a multiplayer mode. If this is an aspect of the game that you’re curious about, then you’ve come to the right place.

Here’s all that we know about the multiplayer functionality of Atomic Heart.

Does Atomic Heart have multiplayer?

Unfortunately, it does not have a multiplayer mode as it was designed by Mundfish purely as a single-player experience. It also doesn’t seem like the developers are planning on adding co-op functionality any time soon so those waiting for its inclusion will be even more disappointed.

According to the developers, however, there will apparently be additional content introduced through the Atomic Pass. This particular detail was revealed through a November 2022 blog post, wherein Mundfish also mentioned that a total of four DLCs would eventually be added, which would contain new weapons, enemies, bosses, and more.

The bad news is that this will not be a free update and players that didn’t get the Gold or Premium Edition of the game will have to purchase the Atomic Pass. It’s worth noting, though, that at $39.99, the Atomic Pass is relatively pricey so fans may not be willing to purchase it even with the promise of added content.

At the time of writing, the developers are yet to reveal when they plan on releasing these expansion packs. But with Atomic Heart only having been released in February 2023, the introduction of DLC to the game may still be a ways off.
