At yesterday’s Atari LIVE event in London, Atari announced an agreement with publisher Stardock Entertainment to co-publish and distribute Gas Powered Games’ Demigod across the European and Asian PAL territories in 2009.

“Chris Taylor’s team at Gas Powered Games are creating something very original and exciting in Demigod which expands the possibilities of PC strategy gaming,” said David Gardner, CEO of Infogrames, the parent company of Atari. “This agreement with Stardock brings a great addition to our 2009 line up as we head into the next phase of growing our distribution business.”

Demigod is set in a magical world where gods walk among mortals and promises to blend action, strategy and role-playing elements into a new experience for PC gamers. Players select a demigod to lead their minions into battle against their rivals, with each demigod willing to do whatever it takes in order to ascend to true godhood.

The game will feature nearly a dozen unique demigods each with their own special skills, powers and capabilities, growing in power as they gain experience and level up.
