Atari has today announced the autumn 2008 release of RACE Pro, the first Xbox 360 game from SimBin, creator of the acclaimed PC racing franchises GTR and RACE.

In development exclusively for Xbox 360, RACE Pro promises to deliver the ultimate racing simulation experience, making use of SimBin’s in-house physics engine Lizard.

The game will feature ultra realistic car models from WTCC, Formula 3000 and Formula BMW and official FIA championships and tracks – 13 in total including Macau, Porto and Pau which are exclusive to RACE Pro, and US tracks Laguna Seca and Road America which will be brand new to SimBin fans.

Once in the driving seat players will take part in a simulated career and will have to work their way up the leader boards through training and winning key races.

“Having personally taken the leap from 20 years of championship racing to racing simulation development, I am really excited for SimBin to be taking its own leap from PC to Xbox 360,” said Henrik Roos, CEO, SimBin Studios AB. “We are proud to be taking this significant move with Atari, our trusted partner since our very first game.”

Race Pro will also feature multiplayer for up to 12 players over Xbox LIVE or System Link. Single console multiplayer is also supported in a Hot Seat mode where players must race for a limited amount of time before passing the controller to the next player.

Look out for more on Race Pro over the coming months as its autumn 2008 release approaches.
