Atari has today announced plans to release Asterix at the Olympic Games for Xbox 360 this summer. The game is based on the feature film of the same name and will blend live action elements from the film with high quality animation to deliver a unique Asterix experience.

Like the PS2, Wii, PC and DS versions that are already available, Asterix at the Olympic Games will see players competing as Asterix or Obelix in a series of physical challenges and puzzles. The adventure mode will feature a love story involving Brutus, Lovestorix and the Grecian Princess Irina.

Alternatively players will be able to compete in 10 disciplines as 12 playable characters in multiplayer games.

The Xbox 360 game will launch this summer in the same time period as the feature film’s DVD release.
