The PSP and DS games will be enhanced versions of the 3D action game that has already appeared on PlayStation 2 and PC, each promised to “take advantage of the unique capabilities of the two consoles.“

The PSP version is being developed by Tate Interactive, and will include an all-new Wi-Fi multiplayer mode. Up to four players will be able to take part in Arena battles, with a host of characters from the Asterix universe available to fight with.

The DS version, which is in the hands of Mistic Software, will incorporate a number of touch screen mini-games into the central game. Some additional Wi-Fi multiplayer games will also be available for gamers with a competitive streak.

Both games are scheduled for release across Europe in November.
