Microsoft has announced the latest batch of games that will be available for free to Gold subscribers to the Xbox Live service in July.

On July 1, Android Assault Cactus will be available to download; despite the name it has very little to do with cactus, being a twin stick shooter. Puzzler Death Squared will join it on July 16 on Xbox One.

Your Xbox 360 titles for the month will comprise beat-em-up Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown from the first to the 15th of the month, which will be followed by Sam Fisher rappelling in from the ceiling onto your hard drive for the latter half from the 16th in Splinter Cell Conviction – both of which scored 9s from us in their respective reviews.

And it's worth pointing out the Smite Gold Bundle from last month's Games with Gold offerings is still available through July 15 if you've not picked that up yet.
