Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Attack On Titan update is largely disappointing, but there is a saving grace. The update adds the side quest A Puzzlement, which includes a statue of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey heroine, Kassandra. It’s long been established that Kassandra is the canon choice between her and Alexios, and Ubisoft hints that she may physically reappear in Japan.

Speaking to YouTuber JorRaptor (via Gamesradar), associate game director Simon Lemay-Comtois says, “We really want to see Kassandra in there” and “she’s immortal at this point in time [so] she could very well show up in Japan”. Lemay-Comtois adds, “Without revealing what it is, we made up a story of when she went to Japan,” and “She did more than just put stuff in a cave”.

The associate game director continues teasing Kassandra’s return, hinting that Ubisoft has a “justification for why there is a Kassandra statue bought by Kassandra in a cave”. Lemay-Comtois says “she basically has a whole ship” and crew to “carry the heavy stuff,” and Ubisoft didn’t “just drop Kassandra” there without any purpose.

Lastly, the developer suggests Kassandra’s statue “is not the last Isu content there will be in Assassin’s Creed Shadows”.

Kassandra’s return in Assassin’s Creed Shadows makes sense

Kassandra returning in Assassin’s Creed Shadows would make perfect sense as she is immortal. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the earliest installment in the series’ timeline, not to be mistaken with its release order. Odyssey takes place between 431 B.C. and 422 B.C., and Kassandra dies in 2018 after passing the Staff of Hermes to the series’ worst character, Layla Hassan.

Because of the timeline, Kassandra could technically reappear in all future Assassin’s Creed installments, assuming they don’t take place after 2018. Ubisoft could even give Kassandra an Easter Egg in the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake, reportedly releasing before March 31, 2026.

The Greek beauty is a fan-favorite among the Assassin’s Creed community. She was brought back in DLC for Valhalla, briefly battling Eivor in one of the game’s best moments. Nothing is official right now, but we would love to see her interact with both Yasuke and Naoe in Japan.

There is a lot for Assassin’s Creed fans to anticipate. Ubisoft’s next mainline installment is codenamed Hexe, and it’s rumored to take place in 16th-century Germany, focusing on the violent witch trials. There’s also a multiplayer game codenamed Invictus that is yet to see the light of day.
