Ubisoft has confirmed details on the first batch of live events for sprawling Greek adventurer Assassin's Creed Odyssey. These will be rotated on a weekly basis, although you'll need to be at least level 30 to have a crack at them, so get grinding if you're not powerful enough just yet.

They're easily spotted by the blue Orichalcum symbol on quest boards and your ship, which is good news as this is a precious resource that can be traded in for Legendary gear in Pilgrim's Landing.

Anyway, about those events. One of them tasks you with battling against Epic Ships and their escorts, which reward you with copious amounts of XP, Drachmae, Orichalcum, plus a new ship design.

Another event as you going toe-to-toe with Epic Mercenaries. Here, you can either recruit or kill a powerful enemy within a specific time limit, again rewarding you with cash and XP.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on October 5, giving the series its best first-week sales of the current crop of hardware. The best part? It's bloody fantastic, and is getting extensive post-launch support to boot.
