Assassin's Creed Odyssey Game Director Scott Phillips has revealed during a quick-fire chat with Game Informer that the game will not support multiplayer. It's not all bad though; sea shanties are included, so that kind of balances things out. Right?

As well as confirming the Greek-flavoured stealth-'em-up will be a single-player experience only, Phillips also revealed that there have been no talks about the possibility of a Battle Royale mode.

Elsewhere, there appear to be no plans to bring Odyssey to the Switch at present, although a Photo Mode is likely to be featured in time for launch. As for a Discovery Mode? Phillips replied 'We'll see.'

Phillips also reiterated that Odyssey is going to be larger than its predecessor, and that it'll feature 'lots' of post-launch support.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is pencilled in for an October 5 release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

Ubisoft recently suggested that future instalments in the multi-million selling franchise could be set across multiple time periods. I'm well up for that.
