Responding to fan questions, Ubisoft has revealed that the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed 2 will feature more than 20 hours of core gameplay.

"We have greatly increased the scope of the game since the first instalment of Assassin's Creed, so just completing the core of the game will be longer than the 20 hours it took in the first game," stated a Ubisoft Q&A.

Ubisoft added: "Moreover, we have developed several different optional gameplay that will add a lot of depth to the whole experience and will also extend your gameplay time in a very significant and meaningful way. As for the exact number of hours it will require it's still too early to say!"

One of the biggest criticisms of the first game was the lack of variety in gameplay, so this certainly sounds promising.

Assassin's Creed 2 is scheduled for release on November 17 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines is also scheduled for release on PSP.
