Atari’s coin-op classics will be released on Xbox Live Arcade this week, complete with enhanced visuals.

Centipede challenges players to defend their village against an onslaught of centipedes, spiders, army ants and more. In Millipede the challenge is to obliterate chains of arthropods that creep down from the top of the screen.

Both games include an enhanced ‘Evolved’ version which features pre-rendered, high definition graphics, special effects such as motion blur, trails and particle-based explosions. The games have also been tweaked in the audio department offering Dolby Digital surround sound.

As ever there’s also the inclusion of 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore points, although these are spread over the two games.

Centipede and Millipede will be available as one package from 09:00 GMT on Wednesday, May 2 priced only 400 Microsoft Points.
