Arms’ official Twitter account has given us our very first glimpse of the new character coming to the Nintendo Switch fighter. The gif shows what seems to be a body-morphing clown, wearing rather baggy pants and spinning some nunchucks. Footage of this brawl was taken by Biff, the Arms announcer, before his camera was broken in the melee.

The grainy animated gif sees a mystery fighter going hell for leather against an opponent, and follows an earlier tweet where Biff is seen relaxing and indulging in some sweet treats whilst on a ‘research’ vacation. From the background behind Biff, it seems to be a sweeties-themed area, with a distinctly colourful theme to it. Almost peaceful you might say, tres bon.

An English fan translation reveals that Biff is making a lot of puns around the word ‘Bon’, and says that he’s doing ‘research’ while on vacation. Another clue to the new fighter’s identity, or a new fight stage, perhaps?

Arms has been receiving quite a lot of support since its release as Nintendo tries to turn it into a fighting event mainstay with, a training mode was added to the game last week. Max Brass was the most recently released playable character having previously been a boss in the games Grand Prix mode.

No word one when we can expect to see this new character in game, whatever its name, but I’d expect an update of sorts by the end of the week or early next week.
