Arc Raiders has become one of the most highly anticipated multiplayer shooters this year, and fans can soon play Embark’s final test for free before the full release date. Initially, Arc Raiders was planned to launch as a free-to-play experience, but plans changed following an announcement at Gamescom 2024. While you will have to pay a fee to access Embark’s newest multiplayer shooter when it launches, the good news is that the developer has reduced the price in some regions, and they are also giving fans one final opportunity to play for free.
Arc Raiders final free play test coming soon
As announced on the game’s official X account, Arc Raiders fans will be able to play for free in a final test on October 17th to 19th. The post on X contains no start times, but, according to an event listed on the game’s official Discord, it will start at 6AM PT/9AM ET/2PM BST before ending two days later at 8AM PT/11AM ET/4PM BST.
The good news is that the final test is free for everyone. You do not need to pre-order the game nor do you need to purchase anything for a code. In addition, the test will be playable on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games store.
Lastly, if you do participate in the playtest, you will be gifted an exclusive backpack as a reward. However, this reward will only be redeemable with the full game at launch.
The full release date for Arc Raiders is October 30th. Again, the full experience will not be free-to-play unlike Embark’s other multiplayer shooter, The Finals.
Leading up to the game’s launch, Embark has confirmed that they are ditching mandatory wipes in favor of a player-driven reset system.
