April NPD: DS shifts over 1 million

According to sales data published by the NPD Group, the Nintendo DS, spurred on by the launch of the DSi, sold a huge 1.04 million units in the US. Sales of the Nintendo DS were greater than the total of all other platforms combined.

While lower than expected, the Wii sold 340,000 units, more than the Xbox 360 (175,000 units) and PS3 (127,000 units) combined. The PSP sold 116,000 units, while the PS2 proved the most popular of the three Sony platforms with unit sales of 172,000.
