Respawn has dished out a new Apex Legends update, nerfing two of the game's more powerful weapons.

First up, the Peacekeeper re-chambers at a slower pace depending on which shotgun bolt is equipped. The Wingman now fires more slowly, and isn't quite as accurate as before when firing from the hip. Both weapons now spawn less frequently, too.

Elsewhere, energy ammo now appears more frequently, and hitboxes for Gibraltar, Caustic, and Pathfinder will be tweaked at the start of the game's first season.

'Our goal is to make less frequent, better tested, higher impact changes, so it minimizes the effects on your time spent mastering a particular mechanic, weapon, character, etc,' Respawn said in its patch notes. 'You shouldn't have to read our patch notes every few days just to keep up with how characters and weapons now work … We know y'all are putting a ton of time into the game and mastering every nuance (like Wraith portalling people off cliffs for the final kill lolz).'

Apex Legends launched in early February for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, and has drummed up 50 million players worldwide.
