Famitsu has been dishing out details on Sony Computer Entertainment Japan’s Saru Get You: Pipo Saru Racer (an Ape Escape racing game). Don’t think for one minute that this is going to be a conventional racer though – for starters, you don’t race vehicles, but mechanical monkeys with wheels where the hands and feet should be.
The PSP racer will include 46 of these primate racers, all of which can be tinkered with by changing the position of their arms and legs – producing a monkey that is optimised for speed rather than power sliding for example. Winning races will earn you money which can then be used to purchase new parts to upgrade your monkey.
Saru Get You: Pipo Saru Racer should be in Japanese stores later this year. There’s no news on a European or North American release.
