UPDATE: Ape Escape 2 is now available to download from PlayStation Store. The PS4 release costs £7.99, although PS Plus members can get it for a slightly cheaper £5.99 until August 9.

ORIGINAL REPORT: Trophies for a PS4 version of Ape Escape 2 have appeared on Exophase, suggesting it could be the next PS2 Classic to arrive on current-gen.

The full list includes 14 trophies, although there’s no indication as to when the game may release. It’s almost certainly real, though: Exophase has previously leaked trophies for PS4 versions of Dead Rising, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and South Park: The Stick of Truth prior to their official announcements.

Ape Escape 2 launched on PS2 back in 2003 and sees playable character Spike using gadgets and his net to track down and capture monkeys.

The original game gained a name for itself for being one of the first titles to make use of the PlayStation’s analogue sticks, with the left stick controlling Spike and the right stick controlling his net.
