Homefront will sell 2 million units, Cowen & Company’s Doug Creutz has said in an analyst note.

Creutz’s comments came after Homefront’s Metacritic rating dropped to 72 from more than 20 published reviews – an average which subsequently caused publisher THQ’s share price to drop.

“With over 20 reviews now reported at the Metacritic website, it is clear that Homefront has not lived up to expectations in terms of game quality,” said Creutz. “While this will likely hamper the title’s ability to achieve breakout success, we still feel reasonably confident that it will achieve sales of 2M units, and see no reason to change our estimates at this time.”

Creutz believes that pre-launch buzz will help the game sell well, in a similar way to EA’s Medal of Honor.

We reviewed Homefront earlier in the week, scoring it a respectable 7/10.
