Gaming hardware company Retro Games has announced it’ll be releasing an Amiga 500 Mini console early next year.

The miniaturised version of the 1987 Amiga 500 (also known as the A500) will come with 25 included classic Amiga games. These include some recognisable classic retro names such as Worms, The Chaos Engine, Simon the Sorcerer, Zool and Another World. You’ll also be able to side-load your own games via USB.

The THEA500 Mini, to give it its full title, will include an original style 2 button mouse, and a special 8-button gamepad specifically designed for the new console. As you’d probably expect, the console’s keys itself are a little too small to actually type with, so you’ll also be able to plug in your own USB keyboard, should you so choose.

There’s also of course plenty of modern comforts, which include 50Hz and 60Hz display modes and save and load functions. It’ll also come packaged with a USB-A to USB-C power cable and HDMI cable so you can plug it into your modern displays.

The Amiga 500 Mini console is set to go on sale in “early 2022” at an RRP of £119.99. Check out a trailer for the THEA500 Mini for yourself just down below.
