It’s been far from a smooth launch for the Xbox One X for customers of online retailer Amazon, with many reporting issues all day including being told their consoles – particularly those who pre-ordered the day-one Project Scorpio Edition –  would be delayed.

As reported by Eurogamer even a brief glimpse of the search term “Amazon UK Xbox One X” on Twitter will find you plenty of tweets from unhappy customers who haven’t been able to receive their consoles in time for today’s launch despite pre-ordering some time ago.

There doesn’t seem to be much in the way of consistency as to which orders have made it through and which haven’t; just in a poll of the three that have ordered one in the VG office Alice’s was still said to be ‘arriving soon’, Dean’s hadn’t dispatched and wasn’t expected before tomorrow while Dan’s had dispatched but was also not arriving until tomorrow.

There’s been no official word from Amazon UK on the matter either, although customers are reporting that ‘stock issues from the dispatching centre have been cited by customer support staff as to blame.

Fingers crossed that everyone waiting on a console hears some good news soon.
