The Associated Press reports that Alyssa Milano is the new Ghostbusters leading lady, filling the void left by Sigourney Weaver.
The “Charmed” actress was offered the role as Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn, a brainy guest curator of a “World of Gozer” exhibit at the Natural History Museum, when Sigourney Weaver turned down the chance to reprise her role as Dana Barrett.
“Obviously, fans of the movie are going to miss Sigourney Weaver,” said Milano. “I have so much respect for that character in the movie that I hope I do the position that she is in justice. I was just flattered to be asked to be part of ‘Ghostbusters’.”
The Ghostbusters video game is set after events of Ghostbusters II and sees Aykroyd, Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts reprise their roles from the original movies.
The game’s scheduled for a June 19 release on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PC and Nintendo DS.
