Activision had a timed-exclusivity deal with Sony when it came to certain downloadable content in the original Destiny but, as reported by Polygon, that deal is at an end and Xbox owners can enjoy a complete Destiny on their console of choice.

Some strikes, competitive multiplayer maps, vehicles, armour, and exotic weapons first released on PlayStation hardware because of a marketing campaign Sony and Activision were running together. However, many thought these extras would be available on Xbox consoles 12 months after their PlayStation debut.

But Activision and Sony were clever in how they relayed their message to the public by saying certain content would be exclusive on PlayStation systems for ‘at least’ a year. That’s why, 24 months after its release, two rifles, a strike, a quest, a set of armour, and a Crucible map from The Taken King, have only just been made available on Microsoft’s home hardware.

The PS-exclusives from the Rise of Iron expansion have thankfully appeared on Phil Spencer’s favourite consoles a year after their initial release and include a multiplayer map, some armour, and a new quest.

I’d have to imagine a lot of those that were playing Destiny on Xbox One for the past few years have migrated to the sequel, but if you haven’t, you now have the full package. Destiny 2 players should be mindful that the PS4-exclusive content in that game is said to not arrive on either PC or Xbox until ‘at least’ the Autumn of next year which, going by this, could turn out to be 2019.
