SEGA has today announced that Aliens: Colonial Marines is to be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC late in 2008.
The squad-based first-person shooter sees players playing as part of a United States Colonial Marine squad. We’re promised a compelling and original story, penned by renowned writers Bradley Thompson and David Weddle, packed full of menacing alien hordes and claustrophobic environments.
All the classic Aliens weaponry will feature, including pulse rifles and flamethrowers, plus brand-new equipment and skills. The game will traverse multiple locations including the interiors of the abandoned Sulaco space ship from the film Aliens.
In addition to the story-driven campaign mode, the game will feature an all-new four player co-op mode allowing players to share the experience with friends. Here each player will assume the role of a Colonial Marine and have an important role to play in the completion of every mission. SEGA is also promising a host of additional multiplayer modes which will be revealed later in the year.
Aliens: Colonial Marines is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC late in 2008.
