EA and American McGee’s imminent Alice: Madness Returns will include a download code for the original twisted tale, giving the title its first release on home consoles.

Alice, a third-person action title, was released in 2000 for PC and although a PS2 port was started it never saw a release.

Speaking to CVG, McGee also revealed that although the sequel won’t offer any form of multiplayer, there are plans to extend the life of the title through DLC releases.

“There will be DLC in the form of dresses that the player can download and Alice can wear,” McGee explained. “Those dresses come with special abilities and enhance how you play through the game.”

Alice: Madness Returns will be released on June 17 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The bundling of a downloadable title with a sequel is becoming an increasingly popular strategy for EA. The publisher has previously offered downloadable games with Medal of Honor, Dead Space 2 and had plans to do so with the cancelled NBA Elite.

There’s no word on whether the port will be enhanced in any way. EA hasn’t said if the download will be made available independently to Madness Returns.
