Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood for Xbox 360 and PS3 has received the Animus Project Update 2.0, a free download on Xbox LIVE and PSN. Ubisoft has generously included a new map and the new Chest Capture game mode.
– The Pienza Map provides the perfect free-running playground where predators and targets can blend and disappear.
– In the new Chest Capture Multiplayer Mode, two teams, comprised of three players each, partner with fellow Templars to either defend or capture Chests. The “Capturers” must use their HUDs to locate and capture the chests, while “Defenders” must use their skills and quick reflexes to track down their foes and protect the chests.
Also included is the Templar Score feature. This is a Templar Grade, updated weekly and based on user scores from the previous four weeks.
Free DLC is rare these days, so a new map and game mode is nothing to be sniffed at. Only time will tell if the bonus Templar Score feature proves to be much of a draw for players.
