A trailer for Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville leaked onto Twitter earlier today, spotted by Gematsu. The third installment to the PvZ franchise was rumoured to be titled ‘Battle for Neighborville’ when EA recently filed a trademark for that in Europe. And now, this leaked trailer ends with the very same words, so we could safely say the name has taken root.

Unsurprisingly, it was removed from Twitter, but soon reappeared as an upload to YouTube. The trailer is not its final cut; some of the scenes are storyboards and some have ‘TEMP GAME FOOTAGE’ slapped over them in the Impact font. But, it does shed a little light on what Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville will be.

The third game looks even sillier and cartoony-er than its predecessors, and the environments are bright and colourful, though this may shift through its three free-roam regions. We know to expect ‘20 fully customizable character classes’, and two new additions were seen in the trailer. One is a ninja toadstool mushroom who may use spores as shurikens, and a disco zombie that zooms onto the battlefield wearing groovy roller skates.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is planned to launch in autumn of this year. Watch the trailer below.
