French international attacker Loic Remy has revealed that it was a game of FIFA 12 with QPR chairman Tony Fernandes which helped secure his move to the London club.

Remy completed the move from Marseille to QPR earlier this week for a record club fee, but it wasn’t the money which won over the player. After more than four hours of talks it was a few games of FIFA 12 which sealed the deal.

“It was a special moment that followed our chat about QPR,” Remy told www.qpr.co.uk.

“We just played a game of FIFA – it was good and showed to me what a good person Tony is.

“He showed his human side to me as an owner of the club I wanted to join. It was a special moment for us both.”

Remy’s Bayern Munich beat Fernandes’ Argentina 6-0 in game one, before the chairman fought for a 4-4 draw, but went on to lose on penalties.

QPR CEO Philip Beard told www.qpr.co.uk: “They had great fun, but Tony told me he let him win!

“But in all seriousness, it was a great way for them to get to know each other better.”

Get with the times guys, FIFA 13 is where it’s at.
