As reported by Gematsu, Bandai Namco has sent out a press release (in Japan) announcing the existence of a new Dragon Ball 2.5D fighting game, Dragon Ball Fighters.

The game is being developed by Arc System Works, known for Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, both fighting series. Arc System Works has Dragon Ball experience, too, having put out a bunch of Dragon Ball Z games over the years.

Gematsu notes that the press release for the announcement is dated for June 12, which means Bandai Namco may have supered its Saiyan a little early on this one. As such there are zero (0) official assets for the game; the header image is from Dragon Ball Xenoverse, which is the most recent thing we had in our system for DB.

Dragon Ball Fighters is planned to release early 2018 on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
