Third-person action titles are ten a penny these days, but Russian developer Biart Studio thinks it’s come up with an original take on the genre – Deep Black is set underwater, and not just underwater in a BioShock way, we’re talking actually in the water.

Players will take to the murky depths armed with underwater equipment, ranging from specialised underwater jet packs with integrated harpoons to mini submersibles and other high tech equipment. With the majority of the game taking place below the water’s surface, players will need to master new skills to fight hostile enemies and infiltrate enemy bases.

505 Games has announced a global agreement with the developer to publish the title on PS3 and Xbox 360 in Q1 2011.
