Call of Duty fans have already logged 427 million hours playing Black Ops 2's multiplayer, Activision has revealed.

The figure was revealed alongside the announcement of the first DLC pack for the game, Revolution, due to launch on Xbox LIVE on January 29.

But despite the impressive stat, sales of the latest Call of Duty are rumoured to have fallen by more than 20 per cent year-on-year compared with 2011's Modern Warfare 3.

Nevertheless, Black Ops 2 still managed to fend off every other release to become the UK's best-selling game of 2012, soaring past $1 billion dollars' worth of sales worldwide within just 15 days.
