Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions has been announced for Nintendo 3DS, with Namco Bandai planning a summer 2011 release.
Included in the package are two new games: Pac-Man tilt and Galaga 3D Impact. Pac-Man tilt is a new action game that asks players to tilt the 3DS to tilt the game stage and help Pac-Man cross the finish line.
Galaga 3D Impact is a 3D shooter, designed to showcase the new 3D effect offered by the handheld. Players will need to destroy the Galaga enemies as they approach in three dimensions. The in-game view moves with the Nintendo 3DS, creating a semi-virtual reality experience which enables the action to take place beyond the screen.
We’re glad to see two new games which look to offer an experience which makes use of the new features of the 3DS, although Pac-Man tilt doesn’t sound like it’s doing much more than what we’ve already seen on many iPhone games.
