Variety reports that Zack Snyder, director of 300 and upcoming Watchmen, has signed up with EA to create three original games.
Snyder’s original titles will be owned by EA, but under the deal the publisher may turn some or all of them into films that will be produced by Snyder’s Cruel & Unusual Films banner.
“Zack Snyder has a fresh and bold creative style that resonates with our core audience,” EA Games label president Frank Gibeau said in a statement.
This isn’t the first time EA has joined forces with a movie director. Back in 2005 the publisher announced a deal with Steven Spielberg to create three new franchise properties. The first of these titles was Boom Blox which was released to great acclaim earlier this year. Presumably Snyder’s titles will have a stronger adult appeal than Boom Blox.
