2K Marin, the team behind the surprisingly decent The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and much maligned BioShock 2, is believed to have been shut down.
Publisher 2K has confirmed that the studio has seen “staff reductions”, but a source speaking to RPS believes the developer has been “essentially” shut, with new positions offered to a small number of staff at 2K’s newly formed Novato studio headed by former Gears of War producer Rod Fergusson.
“I don’t know exactly how many, but it wasn’t a lot. It sounds like everyone who was not offered a position on that team was let go today,” explained an anonymous ex-2K Marin employee.
A Polygon source added that they were “100 per cent sure” the studio had shut down with most staff left unemployed.
