Week 5 of the NFL is in the books, which means the Madden 24 ratings adjustors have everything they need to determine who deserves to be moving up in the overall rating hierarchy. Several players had standout weeks, and Madden NFL usually rewards those players with an increase unless they’re already highly-rated. For example, Tyreek Hill’s dominant performance isn’t as worthy of increase since that level of play is expected. Some players who struggled, like Lamar Jackson or Dak Prescott, could even see a decrease. Nevertheless, here’s who should be moving up.
Who’s getting a ratings boost in Madden 24?
5) Brock Purdy – 79 OVR
The performance that Brock Purdy had against a vaunted Dallas Cowboys defense should not go unnoticed in this game. The San Francisco 49ers QB was nearly perfect, dicing up the secondary for four touchdowns and putting the game entirely out of reach by the third quarter. The 49ers have one of the best rosters in football, but that game was not one a 79 overall player usually has.
4) Ja’Marr Chase – 91 OVR
In recent weeks, Ja’Marr Chase had seen his overall rating dip from 94 to 91. He took that personally, as he went out and set the Cincinnati Bengals reception record and scored three times in the process. It was arguably the best performance anyone’s had all year. When the title updates, Chase’s overall should be back moving upwards.
3) DJ Moore – 86 OVR
DJ Moore played like a 99 overall in the Thursday Night football game. The Chicago Bears wide receiver caught eight of 10 targets for an astounding 230 yards and three touchdowns on the Washington Commanders. He was unbelievable, and an 86 overall just feels disrespectful.
2) Breece Hall – 83 OVR
Breece Hall finally broke out as the New York Jets felt confident enough to let him loose against the Denver Broncos. His ACL tear is a thing of the past as he averaged eight yards per carry for 177 total yards and a touchdown. Understandably, his EA Sports rating wasn’t that high before. That is no longer understandable and he should be moving up.
1) Aidan Hutchinson – 85 OVR
The Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson made life miserable for Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers. He intercepted a screen pass that involved a supremely athletic play, one that an 85 overall defensive lineman shouldn’t be making. He also recorded a sack and a few more pressures as he continues to get better.
