Players of Hogwarts Legacy are finding themselves faced with an unusual issue when trying to play the Wizarding World RPG this week.

It seems that some players are booting the game up, and getting ready to play – only to find their character has turned a shade of blue.

Hogwarts Legacy – why is my character blue?

The most common reason for you character doing their best Avatar impression is thanks to a setting that may have accidentally been toggled on.

It’s part of the ‘High Contrast Gameplay’ option, found in the game’s ‘Accessibility Options’ menu. It’s meant to help players with vision issues find their way around, and turns the player bright blue and important objectives yellow.

How to turn off High Contrast Gameplay

If you want to turn this feature off – it’s very simple. Just pause the game, and then head to Settings. Then, you’ll want the Accessiblity Features submenu as shown in the image below.

Then just scroll down to ‘High Contrast Gameplay’ and simply set the toggle to ‘Off’. You should find your character now looking back to normal.

Hopefully then, you’re now all sorted and ready to start your studies – and to uncover the mystery – at Hogwarts in Hogwarts Legacy.
