If you’re after some extra opportunities, Personal Requests offered by merchants are a great place to start. These tasks are often simple but easy to complete trades, giving Kay a fast way to score upgrades, cosmetics for Nix, and other useful gear to boost our hero’s abilities.

Though Star Wars Outlaws does a good job of guiding the player in the early game, figuring out how to unlock Requests at merchants isn’t all that obvious. We’ll walk you through how it’s done.

How to access Requests

To unlock Requests, you’ll need to unlock Bram’s expert ability called I Know Someone. The unlock conditions are: meet six different merchants and spend 1000 credit at merchants. This is easily done in Mirogana in the early game by talking to all the merchants in the city and a few out in the open world. As for the credit spend, you can buy from one merchant or several different ones as long as you fork out 1000 credits.

You can check your condition progress by accessing the menu, navigating to the Abilities tab, selecting Bram, then cycling through to the I Know Someone ability on the far right. Once you’ve ticked off the conditions, return to the ability card and hold down Spacebar on PC or X on PlayStation to unlock the ability and, by extension, merchant Requests.

Where to get Requests in Star Wars Outlaws

Interact with a merchant and when the store menu pops up, select the Requests option. You’ll then see a list of available requests. These are presented at trades: you’ll need to supply a set number of valuables and materials in exchange for an item.

For example, if you visit Berek Keehro, a tailor in the Mirogana Market in Mirogana city, you can trade x10 Coarseweave and x5 Robuma Leather for the Begamor Ruffian Belt, which increases grenade carrying capacity.

Note that not all merchants offer requests at all times. You can check what’s available by opening up the menu, selecting the Reputation tab, then a Syndicate, and cycling through to Merchants. For each merchant, you’ll see what opportunities are available, including whether they are offering any Requests.
